FROM WINE & SPIRIT IQ TO BEER IQ

Established in 2019, Wine & Spirit IQ offers consulting and training services, intelligent and fun tutored Wine & Spirit  tastings,  wine courses and international wine qualifications delivered by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust or the Wine Scholar Guild to wine enthusiasts and professionals.
 

Founder and director Christophe Mercier first realized his passion for wine while studying culinary arts in Northeastern France, between Jura, Alsace and Burgundy.
 

After an international career in food & beverage operation and education management, Christophe created and opened the Wine Studies Program of Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary School and ran it for six years. 

While at Le Cordon Bleu, students and alumni suggested to Chris to open a Beer class. Not an expert of the beverage, Chris turned to Brian Bartusch, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu to create the first ever beer course . By that time, Brian was already a brewer, beer judge and co-founder of Beervana, a pioneer of craft beer import in the Kingdom. The course was an immediate success.

Fast-forwarding to 2024, contemplating the beer scene in Thailand, Christophe & Brian realized the need for wine qualifications that would be internationally recognized and relevant to the unique needs of wine enthusiasts and professionals:  Programs that would be intelligent yet unpretentious; fun, yet professional: and so, BeerIQ was born!
